Peugeot, 4000 Employees are layoffs



Paris - Bad news from the French manufacturer, Peugeot. The lion was reportedly bearing manufacturer will lay off about 4,000 employees.

As reported by AFP on Tuesday (15/11/2011), citing sources from unions, job cuts in France's Peugeot is part effort to reduce production costs.

If specified, the production of around about 1,000 workers will be laid off, 500 people in R & D units, 400 people in other departments, external partners and the rest of Peugeot.

Whereas earlier in the month of October, Peugeot has announced to conduct layoffs to about 6,000 employees in Europe to save costs around 800 million euros. Not yet known whether cutting the number of new employees who are part of employee cuts in Europe.

Vehicle manufacturing is one important driver of the French economy. This sector employs about a quarter of French workers.

During this time other French manufacturers Peugeot and Renault get the state aid in the form of cheap loans to help their operations. Car sales in France because France was still firm providing consumer car buyers subsidy there.
